Not a good presenter? You could be. Jan 30, 2010 I present from time to time. I've always enjoyed it. I've been told often that I'm a good public presenter. (I'm also told not to brag too much)
I've read several communication books which in some instances deeply cover the mechanics of this subject. I'm the kind of guy who reads, practices, adopts, and uses self-improvement stuff all the time. Just about everything the author covers in this book isn't new and it isn't revolutionary. But, he doesn't make any claims that it is, either. But, if nothing else, he does a really good job at a couple of things. First, it's written so that people at any level can read this book and probably become better at presenting. It's straight forward and intuitively put together. Second, you get just enough on body-language, linguistics, rapport, tonality (among others) to be able to use these skills with ease. It's apparent that the author knows a lot more on these topics but uses self-restraint so as not to lose the audience.
If you're an accountant and you have to present to a bunch of people in a week and you're freaking out: read this book before you do anything else. If you present from time to time and you've gotten pretty comfortable with it, there are better books for you. It just depends on what you want to hone or improve.
Body Language Jan 06, 2010 Terrific book. The section on body language was particularly helpful. It was not something I had noticed about myself prior to reading.

De los mejores libros en su genero!! Oct 24, 2009 Koegel hace un trabajo excelente con su libro, al estructurar un material que permitira incluso a personas con experiencia en presentaciones adicionar excelentes armas a su repertorio. Material de consulta indudablemente!
Recommended to anyone who makes presentations Oct 05, 2009 This is a great book for anyone who gives presentations or who speaks publicly. It can be used as a quick refresher for pros who just need some tweaking to improve their approach. And, it's also a good place for someone new to speaking to start and probably all they will need if they catch on fast. It's fun to read and a page turner that you can complete in a few hours. I highly recommend it to anyone who has to make presentations to small and large audiences.

The Exceptional Presenter is an exceptional book. Jul 22, 2009 Tim Koegel's book is a must read. Even people who are proficient at selling and speaking come away with new techniques that will greatly strengthen their presentations. Tim takes the next step and gives tips on how to incorporate these techniques into your daily work life, so that you practice them eight hours a day without thinking about it. They then become natural. I highly recommend this book.
